Purpose:

• Encourage more volunteers from the membership.
• Initiate a process to allow AGO membership to vote each year for approximately half of the BOT to serve for a two year term. (i.e. Staggered terms, up to 4 Class A members (even number years) and up to 4 Class B members (odd number years))
• Initiate a process to allow any AGO member in good standing to place his/her name on the ballot.

How to place your name on the ballot:

• Any AGO member in good standing who wishes to place his/her name on the ballot will need to contact any current BOT member in writing (email acceptable) no later than April 1st of each year.

How to vote:

• Ballots will be done electronically, emailed to each AGO member in good standing between April 1st and April 15th of each year. (This may be extended under extenuating circumstances as decided by the Board)
• Properly completed ballots must be completed no later than May 1st of each year in order to be valid. (Can be extended under extenuating circumstances as decided by the board)
• If the number of candidates are less than the maximum of four for each Class (see above), then no ballots will be sent out and no vote will take place. All candidates (volunteers) win unopposed.

Qualifications for BOT:

• Love golf.
• Reasonable computer and internet skills.
• Able and willing to make the time commitment (Arrive early to tournaments, and stay late as needed, 1 teleconference meeting per month, attend committee rounds as scheduled, plus other event and event preparation time).
• Member of AGO and in good standing (e.g. current on annual dues).

Election of Board of Trustees (“BOT”) - Additional Information

1. Size of Board: Minimum- 3 Maximum- 8

2. Staggered 2 year terms: Annual elections will allow the membership to vote for approximately
half of the BOT each year. Class A BOT members will stand for election each EVEN number
year and Class B BOT members will stand for election each ODD number year. Each duly
elected member will serve for a two year Term. (NOTE: the first time this process is initiated, the
membership will vote for both classes and one of the classes will serve for only one year the first
time around.)

3. Fiscal Year and Term Dates: Our fiscal year begins on each June 1st and ends on each May 31st.
The Term of each newly elected member will begin on June 1st immediately following his/her
election and end on May 31st of the second year of his/her term. (Note one-time first year
implementation difference discussed in #2 above)

4. Election dates and process: The membership will have the opportunity to vote for up to four
BOT members each year. (note: up to eight in first year, see #2 above) Any member who wishes
to “volunteer” for inclusion on the Ballot must notify one of the existing BOT members in writing
(email acceptable) no later than April 1st of each year. Candidates must be in good standing (paid
up dues) to be placed on the Ballot. If four or less volunteer for either BOT class, then no further
election process is necessary (i.e. they are considered elected – running un-opposed). If five or
more volunteer to be on the Ballot, then a Ballot will be emailed to each AGO member in good
standing no later than April 15th. Each AGO member then has the opportunity to vote for up to 4
candidates listed on the Ballot and return (email or snail mail) the properly completed Ballot to
AGO no later than May 1st 5 pm EST. The four candidates that receive the most votes, win.
Their Terms, as discussed above, will begin June 1st.

5. Specific Officers: Each year, during the first BOT meeting subsequent to May 1st, the Board will
select (by majority vote of the Board) a President, VP/Secretary, Treasurer and any other specific
position deemed necessary or practicable by the Board.

6. Resignation of BOT member: Any BOT member wishing to resign prior to the end of their
designated two year term, may do so. The remaining members of the BOT may select, by
majority vote of the remaining BOT members, a replacement to fill the vacancy of the resigning
member to serve until the end of the resigning member’s Term.

7. No limit on number of Terms served. An existing BOT member may serve as many Terms as
he/she wishes, subject to the membership vote discussed above. (i.e. he/she will be subject to reelection
pursuant to membership voting process discussed above at the end of each of his/her two
year Term.)

8. Interim BOT member selection. If the BOT is not at its maximum membership, and the BOT
wishes to add an additional interim member(s) to make up a short-fall, they may do so by
majority vote of the BOT. However, this appointed member must be placed on the Ballot in
April for consideration by the membership, if he/she wishes to continue on the Board. See #4
above.
